Valley of Hartford 5K Road Race - Newington, CT
The Valley of Hartford 5K Road Race is an annual community road race held in Newington, Connecticut. The event is organized with a registration booth at 207 Deming Street. The entry fee is $30 and 100% of proceeds benefit the Children's Dyslexia Centers of Connecticut.
Proceeds support one-on-one tutorial sessions and comprehensive teacher training. The organizer lists an estimated value of tutorial services at $5,000 per child and teacher training at $10,000 per tutor.
Participant amenities include complimentary T shirts for the first 100 registrants and free hydration and refreshments such as pastries, fruit, Gatorade, and water. Wellness services are offered on site by Roba Physical Therapy and include massage tables, cupping, and Normatec compression boots.
Awards are given to overall winners with 1st place male and 1st place female recognized. Age division awards are presented for 1st and 2nd place male and female in the following ranges: 9-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus.
