Petit Family Foundation 5K
The Petit Family Foundation 5K is an annual running and walking event held in Plainville, Connecticut. Established in 2008, the event takes place at Plainville High School and offers participants a choice between two main activities:
- 5K Road Race
- 1.3 mile Fitness Walk
The 5K event features a USATF-certified, point-to-point course. The race was originally founded by classmates of Dr. William A. Petit, Jr. to honor the legacy of his family and to support community initiatives.
The event serves as a significant fundraiser for the Petit Family Foundation. To date, the foundation has distributed more than $4.5 million in grants to various programs and projects. These contributions impact local communities in Connecticut, the American Northeast, and other regions across the United States. Registration for the event typically closes a few days prior to the race date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
