Vaisakhi 5K
The Vaisakhi 5K is an annual 5 kilometer run held at Victory Field in Woodhaven, New York. The event is described as community rooted in New York’s Sikh Sangat and marks an established yearly edition; this is the 11th annual running.
Event services include live online, text and email timing results, free finish line photos, a personalized bib option for registrations made at least three weeks in advance, a finisher medal for all participants, refreshments before and after the run, and a complimentary T shirt.
Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female overall finishers. Single top male and top female awards are given in the age groups 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 plus.
Bib pickup is handled by event staff beginning one hour before the event. A bib number is required for pickup and can be obtained via self lookup or Bib Lookup. Registrants within 24 hours of the event receive their bib number by text, typically within 90 seconds.
The course starts and finishes at the same point. The route features a marked midpoint U turn; on return participants veer right and complete one lap counter clockwise to the finish.
