The Manhattanite
The Manhattanite takes place on December 5, 2026 in Riverside Park at 84th Street and Riverside Drive in Manhattan. The event is organized by CityTri Runs and features two road race distances along the Hudson.
Distances
- 10K two loops of 3.1 miles each
- 5K one loop of 3.1 miles
The course follows the park paths along the waterfront as an out and back on the same stretch. The route is not flat; climbing appears as short, steep hills rather than one long climb. Runners in the 10K make a U-turn about 200 feet before the finish at the end of each lap. The 5K runs a single loop and finishes through the finish arch.
On-course support includes two water stations per loop offering water, Gatorade, and gels. Timing is performed with professional chip timing and live results and per-lap splits are posted. Every finisher receives a medal, a technical race shirt, a personalized race video and photos, and a race certificate. Post race offerings include bagels, snacks, drinks, and an awards ceremony with overall plaques for the top three men and women and age group medals for the top three in each group.
Race-day logistics note that bib pickup is race day only and participants must present their check-in code to receive a race number and timing tag. Participants must wear their bib on the front torso, sign required waivers, be at least six years old, and follow rules about assigned waves and prohibited equipment on the course.
