Event details
The Uwharrie Mountain Run is the 35th annual edition, scheduled for February 7, 2026, in Ophir, North Carolina. The race takes place in the Uwharrie National Forest, starting at the Jumping Off Rock Trailhead on Flint Hill Road. It offers single-track trail courses with rocky and root-filled terrain and creek crossings. Distances include:

- 20 miles
- 40 miles
Logistics and awards
All participants receive a long-sleeve race T-shirt. The event provides complimentary parking and shuttles, well-stocked aid stations on course, and food and refreshments at the finish area. Awards are handmade pottery created by a local Seagrove potter and are presented as runners finish; the top three male and female finishers in each race receive commemorative pottery, and the overall male and female winners also receive Altra shoe certificates. The event is conducted under a Special Use Permit on Uwharrie National Forest. Volunteers are offered priority entry to the next year’s race.
