Twinkle Toes 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The event takes place on 12/12/2026 in Star, North Carolina, with start and finish at Star Elementary School on Cotton Creek Road. It includes two distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
Registration opens 9/8/2026. Early bird rates apply through Nov. 30; higher rates are listed for Dec. 1–12. The listed fees include $25 for the 5K early rate and $20 for the 1-mile early rate. Entrants must be registered by Nov. 27 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. There is no extra charge for strollers. Bandit runners are prohibited and will be removed by law enforcement. Due to liability, pets are not allowed.
Race timing will be provided by Uwharrie Dash, formerly Vac & Dash staff from Albemarle. Registered participants receive a bag with a t-shirt and other items; bags are available for pickup at Star Elementary School Gym on Dec. 11 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and on race day from 7:30 am to 8:30 am at the school.
Both courses run through residential areas of Star. Water stations will be located at the 1- and 2-mile markers and at the finish line. An awards ceremony follows the race; overall male and female 1st–3rd are recognized and are not included in age category awards. Age-group awards are 1st–3rd for each category: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+.
