Event Overview
The Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in Albemarle, North Carolina. The event features three distinct activities: a timed 5K Run/Walk, a Virtual 5K, and a non-timed H4G 1-Mile Run/Walk.
Event Details
All participants registered by October 1st will receive a race t-shirt. Post-race beverages are provided: participants over 21 receive a complimentary Uwharrie beer, while others have a choice of soft drinks, coffee, tea, or lemonade.
The event celebrates the old firehouse, the Firehouse red ale beer, the Albemarle Fire Department, and Fire Prevention Week. After the runs, there will be games, face painting, coloring books, free ice cream, and fire safety demonstrations by the fire department. The event welcomes runners, walkers, and strollers.
Packet pickup is scheduled for October 2nd at Uwharrie Brewing and will also be available on race day.
Awards and Proceeds
For the timed 5K, custom engraved mugs are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. Age group winners receive custom-designed medals. The age groups are: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and over 70. Proceeds from the 5K benefit the Uwharrie Brewing Running Club, while proceeds from the 1-mile run/walk benefit H4G (Hungry for Gains).
Both the 5K and 1-mile events start and finish at Uwharrie Brewing. The event will be held rain or shine, with no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
