Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse 5K & 1-Mile
The event takes place on October 3, 2026, at Uwharrie Brewing in Albemarle, North Carolina, with start and finish at the brewery parking lot at 121 N. 3rd Street. The weekend includes in-person and virtual options and a firefighter division that requires turnout coat, pants, helmet, and gloves.

- Firefighter Challenge 5K - turnout gear required for competing firefighters
- H4G 1 Mile Run/Walk - non timed option, no T-shirt
- Virtual 5K - shirt mailed to registrants
Proceeds from the 5K support local fire prevention initiatives, free smoke detector programs, fire extinguisher distribution, and the Uwharrie Brewing Running Club. The event also serves as a kickoff for Fire Prevention Week October 4 to 10, 2026 and highlights the theme Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower.
Race day features a finish line celebration with shaved ice, games, face painting, coloring activities, and fire safety demonstrations. Participants aged 21 and over receive a complimentary brewery beverage; alternatives are available for under 21. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Uwharrie Brewing and on race day. Awards include handcrafted trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and custom medals for age group winners. Cash prizes are listed for top firefighter challenge finishers.
