Uwharrie Brewing Firehouse 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk
The event takes place on October 3, 2026, at Uwharrie Brewing in Albemarle, North Carolina. It recognizes the old Firehouse, the Firehouse red ale, the Albemarle Fire Department, and Fire Prevention Week 2026.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run/Walk (timed event with t-shirt option)
- 1 Mile Run/Walk non timed event with prizes
- Virtual 5K with mailed race t shirt
The 5K is a timed race. Custom engraved mugs are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. Age group winners receive custom designed medals. Age groups are: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, Over 70. Start and finish are at Uwharrie Brewing.
Packet pickup is on October 2 at Uwharrie Brewing from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with additional pickup on race day. Participants over 21 receive a complimentary Uwharrie beer; participants under 21 or those preferring a non alcoholic option may choose soft drinks, coffee, tea, or lemonade.
After the run there will be games, face painting, coloring books, free ice cream, and fire safety demonstrations by the Albemarle Fire Department. Proceeds from the 5K benefit the Uwharrie Brewing Running Club. Proceeds from the 1 Mile benefit H4G (Hungry for Gains). The race is held rain or shine with no refunds.
