Uwharrie 100 Mile and 100K Trail Run

The Uwharrie 100 Mile and 100K Trail Run will take place October 17-18, 2026 in the Uwharrie National Forest near Troy, North Carolina. The course is a 20.5 mile figure 8 loop of technical singletrack with roots and rocks under a forest canopy.

Distances

  • 100 mile : five laps of the 20.5 mile loop
  • 100K : three laps of the 20.5 mile loop

The field is limited to 150 total runners across both distances. Due to the technical nature of the course, both races have a 36 hour cutoff. Entry conditions require 100 mile entrants to have previously completed a 50 mile event within that race's established time limit; exceptions include the Uwharrie 40 mile Mountain Run or Mount Mitchell Challenge as qualifying events. Questions about qualifying races should be directed to the race organizers.

Runners who register by September 15 are guaranteed their chosen shirt size; registrations after that date do not have a guaranteed size. Registration closes October 10, 2026. Refunds of 50 percent are available until May 1, 2026; no full refunds or bib transfers will be offered. Deferments may be considered until September 1, 2026 and, if granted, allow a single rollover to the following year. In certain unforeseen life circumstances, 100 percent credit toward the 2027 race may be applied and will be reviewed individually.

Minors must have parental consent provided on the registration platform. No entrant under 16 years of age on the event date will be allowed to participate. The event is authorized under a Special Use Permit for the Uwharrie National Forest. The race accepts an athlete’s declared gender and will address any post event challenges in writing to the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
