Best Dam 5K Run/Walk
The Best DAM 5K Run/Walk is the 6th annual event held in Badin, North Carolina on October 25, 2026. The in-person race assembles at Badin United Methodist Church, 18 Hickory St., Badin NC 28009. The event is organized to benefit Better Badin, a local nonprofit that returns funds to the community.
There are in-person and virtual options. Registration details are:

In-person registration is open April 8, 2026 through September 8, 2026. Virtual registration is open October 31, 2025 through September 15, 2026. The registration fee for each option is $25. The first 50 people who register for the in-person race receive a DAM koozie. To guarantee a race shirt on race day, registration must be completed by October 14; if shirts are unavailable on race day they will be printed after the event.
The course is a down-and-back route with a water station at the Narrows Dam. Awards include top male and female overall finishers and Dam age-group medals awarded three deep for the listed age categories, including 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 plus. Participants who meet finish criteria may receive a DAM medal. A long-sleeve DAM t-shirt is provided as race swag and is included for virtual entrants with shipping.
