Pirate 5K and 10K at Veterans Memorial Park
The Pirate 5K and 10K is an organized running event held at Veterans Memorial Park in Gainesville, Florida. Part of the US Road Running series, this event offers a local racing opportunity with a specific nautical theme where participants are encouraged to wear costumes.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 5K
- 10K
The course is designed as an out-and-back route measuring 0.78 miles. Runners completing the 5K distance will traverse the course twice, while those participating in the 10K will complete the course four times. The entire event is subject to a course time limit of 2 hours.
Registration must be completed in advance through the designated online platform, as there is no option for on-site registration on the day of the event. Packet pickup is conducted at the race location, beginning 30 minutes before the start and concluding 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the run. All participants who finish their respective distances receive a finisher medal. Special awards are also available, including recognition for the best costume.
