US Road Running - Silver Lake
The Medal Madness event in Wilmington, North Carolina, organized by US Road Running, offers a local race experience held at Halyburton Park. This event features two distinct distances for participants to choose from:
- 5K - An out-and-back course that runners complete twice.
- Half Marathon - An out-and-back course that runners complete six times.
The race follows a strict registration policy where all participants must sign up through a digital platform prior to arrival, as no on-site registration is permitted. Packet pickup is conducted at the event site, beginning 30 minutes before the official start and concluding 10 minutes prior to the race.
The courses are designed as out-and-back loops. The 5K route consists of a 1.56-mile out-and-back section repeated twice. The Half Marathon route utilizes a 2.18-mile out-and-back section repeated six times. A total course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes is enforced for all participants.
All finishers will receive a medal for their participation. Performance and participation also contribute to a series points system. Additionally, the event encourages personal expression through a best costume award, which is judged at the beginning of the race.
