Good Hops 5k'ish Beer Run 2026
The Good Hops 5k'ish Beer Run 2026 takes place on Saturday, June 20, 2026 in Carolina Beach, NC. The event is the 11th annual edition and starts at Good Hops Brewing, 811 Harper Ave. The entry fee listed is $35, and proceeds benefit Carolina Beach Elementary School and Friends of the State Park. The event is described as a run/walk with a distance of approximately 5k(ish).
Course, awards and logistics
The course is 100% natural trail inside Carolina Beach State Park on single-track. Participants should expect soft sand, roots, rocks, and uneven ground. The route leaves the greenway, does a loop on the single-track, and returns to the start of the trail; the start is marked on the greenway and the finish is marked before the return. Two water stations are provided near mile 1 and mile 2. Runners and walkers assemble 15 minutes before the race in the Good Hops parking lot and the group crosses Dow Road with police assistance.
Packet pick-up is available Friday evening at the brewery and additional pick-up and late registration are scheduled on race morning. Runners registered by June 9 are guaranteed a t-shirt; sizes are adult unisex XS through XXL and size exchanges are not available. Runners over 21 receive the official cup and a beer; under-21 participants receive an age-appropriate treat. Awards are planned for multiple age and category divisions, including overall, masters (over 55), dad/kid combo, military, and youth 14 and under.
