Event Overview
The Luau 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon is a themed running event held at Piedmont Park in Alabama. This US Road Running series race features multiple distances and focuses on a local community atmosphere. All participants are required to register through RunSignup before the event day, as there is no registration available at the location. Participant packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the scheduled start and concludes 10 minutes prior to the race.
Distances and Course Routes
The event includes three distinct distances, all utilizing out-and-back course layouts:
- 5K - Runners complete a 1.56-mile out-and-back loop twice.
- 10K - Participants complete the 1.56-mile out-and-back loop four times.
- Half Marathon - Runners complete a 2.18-mile out-and-back loop six times.
Race Logistics
There is a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all distances. All finishers receive a medal upon completing their race. The event also hosts a best costume competition, and runners are encouraged to wear costumes that fit the luau theme. Points for the US Road Running series are awarded based on participation and performance.
