BOOKING IT Through the Bluff

BOOKING IT Through the Bluff is a multi-event race day at the Hokes Bluff Community Center in Hokes Bluff, AL. The program includes a full-distance triathlon available to individuals and to teams of two or three, a team category for Ainsley's Angels, a 10K run only, and a shirt-only option. Proceeds benefit the Hokes Bluff Library Foundation.

The triathlon covers a total of 42 kilometers over three sequential legs. Participants begin at the Hokes Bluff Community Center, complete the running leg through town to Hokes Bluff Ferry Park, continue by kayak downstream on the Coosa River, and finish with a cycling leg on county roads back to the community center. Life jackets are required for all triathlon participants when in and around the water. The triathlon requests a minimum participant age of 14 years.

Distances include:

  • 5K run leg
  • 4.5K kayak leg paddling with the current
  • 32.4K bike leg
  • 10K run only course

The 10K is a loop that starts and finishes at the community center with hydration stations along the route. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at the public library and on race morning at the community center. Awards are given by age groups and overall categories for both the triathlon and the 10K; event specific award formats are listed by the organizers.
