The 50K is a point to point trail run on the Pinhoti Trail, connecting to the Heflin Spur for the final two miles. The course begins near Greenleaf Dam at FS 532 and finishes at Cahulga Creek Park. Runners encounter scenic overlooks, creek crossings, lakes, hardwood and pine forests, and about 95% single track through Talladega National Forest.
The 25K is a lollipop course starting and finishing at Cahulga Creek Park. The route runs north on the Heflin Spur to Shoal Creek Trailhead, follows the Pinhoti to High Rock, then uses forest service roads FS 531 and FS 500 to return to the Heflin Spur and the finish.
The 10K is an out and back from Cahulga Creek Park north on the Heflin Spur through Shoal Creek Trailhead onto the Pinhoti for approximately 0.6 miles before returning.
Time limits are published for each distance: 50K 9 hours 30 minutes, 25K 6 hours, 10K 4 hours. Aid stations are located along each course at named trailheads and road crossings; all finishers receive a medal. Bus transportation to the 50K start is available for a $15 ticket. Packet pickup is the day before the races at Cahulga Creek Park. Restrooms are available at starts and finishes. Camping is available at Cahulga Creek Park for a $10 donation; primitive camping and restrooms are provided but no showers. No refunds, no race day registration, no transfers and no deferrals. Strollers, animals, bicycles and unentered runners are not allowed on course; pets must be kept 50 feet from aid stations and start and finish areas.
