Haunted 5K and Half Marathon
The US Road Running event in Hickory, North Carolina, features a themed morning race held at the local trailhead site. The event is part of the US Road Running Race Series, allowing participants to earn points toward the seasonal standings. All participants who complete their designated distance receive a themed finisher medal.
Runners can choose from the following race distances:
- 5K: An out-and-back course completed two times.
- Half Marathon: An out-and-back course completed six times.
The race course has a strictly enforced time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. The registration and starting line are located north of the VFW, across from the corner of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW. Parking and restroom facilities are provided at the trailhead area.
Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory for participation. A group photo is taken before the start, and an award is presented for the best costume prior to the beginning of the race. Registration is conducted exclusively online through RunSignup, as there is no on-site registration available on the day of the event. Packet pickup is scheduled to begin 30 minutes before the race start and concludes 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
