US Road Running - Northlakes
The upcoming event in Hickory, North Carolina, offers two road running distances as part of the US Road Running Race Series. Participants can choose between the following events:
- 5K
- Half Marathon
The 5K course consists of a 0.78-mile setup designed as an out-and-back, which runners complete two times. The Half Marathon utilizes a 1.09-mile out-and-back course, requiring six full repetitions to reach the total distance. Both courses have a strict overall time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
The registration and starting line are situated north of the VFW, across from the intersection of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW. Parking facilities and restrooms are located at the nearby trailhead. All participants must register online in advance, as there is no option for on-site registration. Packet pickup is conducted shortly before the start of the events.
Finishers are awarded a themed medal upon completion of their race. While not a requirement, participants are encouraged to wear costumes, and an award for the best costume is presented following a group photo at the start of the event.
