Event overview
The Medal Madness 5K & Half Marathon takes place on June 6, 2026, in Hickory, North Carolina. The starting line is located across the street from the corner of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW (1581 12th St Dr NW, Hickory, NC 28601). All entrants must register on RunSignup; there is no on-site registration.

Course and time limit
Both the 5K and the Half Marathon use out-and-back courses. The 5K course is completed two times. The Half Marathon course is completed six times. A course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes applies.
Awards and other race features
All finishers receive a themed finisher medal. A group photo is taken at the beginning of each race and a best costume award is given at that time; wearing a costume is optional. The event earns points toward the US Road Running Race Series and follows the series’ awards and information structure. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
