Event overview
The Medal Madness 5K & Half Marathon takes place in Hickory, North Carolina. The event includes two distances: a 5K and a Half Marathon. All finishers receive a themed finisher medal. A group photo is taken at the beginning of each race, and a best-costume award is given at the beginning of the race.
Location and logistics
The registration and starting line are located north of the VFW, across the street from the corner of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW (1581 12th St Dr NW, Hickory, NC 28601). Parking and restrooms are located at the Trailhead. Packet pickup is available before the race. All runners must register on RunSignup; there is no on-site registration.
Course details and limits
- 5K: Uses a 1.56-mile out-and-back loop that is run two times.
- Half Marathon: Uses a 2.18-mile out-and-back loop that is run six times.
