US Road Running - Hickory
The US Road Running event in Hickory, North Carolina, offers two distinct distances for participants on an out-and-back course. The event is part of the US Road Running Race Series, allowing participants to earn points toward the series rankings. Registration is managed through RunSignup, and no on-site registration is available for this event.
The races take place on specific out-and-back routes starting north of the VFW, near the corner of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW. Parking and restroom facilities are located at the nearby Trailhead. All participants must complete their designated course within a time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
The available distances include:
- 5K: A 1.56 mile out-and-back circuit completed two times.
- Half Marathon: A 2.18 mile out-and-back circuit completed six times.
Finisher medals with a specific theme are provided to all participants who complete their race. While not a requirement, participants are encouraged to wear costumes. A group photo is taken before the start, and an award is presented for the best costume at that time. Packet pickup is conducted on the morning of the event, closing shortly before the start.
