Race Details
The Eagle event in Hickory, North Carolina features two running distances: a 5K and a Half Marathon. Both races share the same start time and date, which is July 4, 2026.
Course and Format
The event uses an out-and-back course format. The 5K route is a 0.78-mile out-and-back segment that participants complete twice for the full distance. The Half Marathon route is a 1.09-mile out-and-back segment that runners complete six times to finish the 13.1 miles.
Event Information
All participants must register online via RunSignup; there is no on-site registration available on race day. Packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the race start and ends 10 minutes before the start. The starting line and registration area are located north of the VFW, across the street from the corner of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW in Hickory. Parking and restroom facilities are available at a nearby Trailhead.
Awards and Features
All finishers receive a themed medal. There is a best costume element, with a photo taken at the start of each race and an award for the best costume. The event has a time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. It also awards points for the US Road Running Race Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
