Event Overview
The Pirate 5K, 10K, 13.1M & 26.2M at Athens, GA takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The event offers four race distances: 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon. All events start from the same location.
Location and Registration
The race start and packet pickup are at the North Oconee River Greenway Trailhead on North Oconee Access Road in Athens, Georgia. All participants must register online via RunSignup; there is no on-site registration. Packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the race start and ends 10 minutes before.
Course Details
The courses are out-and-back loops along the greenway. The 5K and 10K share a 1.56-mile loop (3.11-mile round trip). The 5K completes this loop once, while the 10K completes it twice. The Half Marathon and Marathon share a separate 1.64-mile loop (3.28-mile round trip). The Half Marathon runs this loop four times, and the Marathon runs it eight times.
Event Features
There is a 6-hour time limit for the course. All finishers receive a themed medal. Costumes are encouraged but not required. This race awards points for the US Road Running Race Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
