Miles for Smiles 5K
The Miles for Smiles 5K takes place on March 28, 2026, at Wire Park, 111 S. Barnett Shoals Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677. The event is sponsored by the Chick Fil A Leader Academy of Westminster Christian Academy in partnership with Fresh Wind Recovery Ministry. The race aims to raise funds for Fresh Wind Recovery Ministry to support program costs and additional housing and bedding for clients. Fresh Wind Recovery Ministry works with people overcoming substance abuse and includes a faith-based element.
Race details and logistics
The course starts and finishes at Wire Park and runs through the adjacent Morgan Manor neighborhood. Registration carries a $30 race fee plus a $3.44 signup fee; registration closes on March 25, 2026. T-shirts are available for registrations received by March 10; a No Shirt option with a $5 discount is offered through March 10. Packet pickup and an awards ceremony are part of race day activities. Awards are given to Overall Male and Female, Masters Male and Female, and in the following male and female age groups: 10 and Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and Over. The event is part of the Black Bag Race Series, with finish line management and timing provided by Classic Race Services.
