Miles for Smiles 5K : Watkinsville
The Miles for Smiles 5K is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Wire Park, 111 S. Barnett Shoals Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677. The event is presented in partnership with Fresh Wind Recovery Ministry and sponsored by the Chick Fil A Leader Academy of Westminster Christian Academy. Fresh Wind Recovery Ministry supports people overcoming substance abuse and includes a faith-based component.
The course starts and finishes at Wire Park and runs through the adjacent Morgan Manor neighborhood. The event includes registration and packet pickup and an awards ceremony on race day. Awards are given to overall male and female, masters male and female, and in 10-year age groups from 10 and under through 80 and over.
Registration information notes a race fee of $30 plus a signup fee. Registration closes March 25, 2026. T-shirts are available for registrations received by March 10; a No Shirt option with a $5.00 discount is also available through that date.
The event aims to raise funds for Fresh Wind Recovery Ministry to support program costs and the need for additional housing and bedding. The race is a member of the Black Bag Race Series, with finish line management and timing provided by Classic Race Services. There are no refunds for inclement weather.
