US Road Running - Athens

Event Details

The Medal Madness event in Athens, Georgia offers four race distances: a 5K, a 10K, a Half Marathon, and a Marathon. All races start together from the North Oconee River Greenway Trailhead on North Oconee Access Road.

Course Description

The courses are out-and-back routes on the greenway.

• The 5K and 10K share a 1.56-mile out-and-back segment. The 5K completes this segment once, while the 10K completes it twice.
• The Half Marathon and Marathon share a 1.64-mile out-and-back segment. The Half Marathon completes this segment four times, and the Marathon completes it eight times. A six-hour time limit applies for the entire event.

Registration and Logistics

All participants must register online in advance; there is no on-site registration. Packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the race start.

Additional Information

All finishers receive a themed medal. Costumes are encouraged but not required. The race awards points for the US Road Running Race Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
