Event information
The New Year 5K, 10K, & Half Marathon at North Oconee River takes place on January 10, 2026 in Athens, GA (30605). The event is held at the North Oconee River Greenway Trailhead at North Oconee Access Road. All runners must register on RunSignup; there is no on-site registration. All finishers will receive a themed medal. Wearing a costume is not required but is encouraged. The event earns points toward the US Road Running Race Series. There is a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. Awards are offered through the US Road Running series.

The 5K and 10K use an out-and-back course; the 5K covers the route one time and the 10K covers it two times. The Half Marathon also uses an out-and-back course and completes that route four times.
