Event Overview
The event was scheduled to include two race distances:
- Run for Gold 5K
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
It was organized by the Oconee Parks Foundation to benefit the Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department. All proceeds were intended for ongoing park projects.
Location
The event was planned to take place at Oconee Veterans Park, located at 3500 Hog Mountain Road in Watkinsville, Georgia. The course was designed to run entirely within the park on its fitness trail, with the start and finish near the concession stand on the soccer field side.
Participant Information
Strollers and leashed dogs were permitted for both events. Participants who registered by a specific date were eligible for a t-shirt, subject to availability.
Race Management
Timing and finish line management were to be provided by Classic Race Services. The 5K was listed as a member of the Black Bag Race Series.
