Upper Beaconsfield Tower Run/Walk

The Upper Beaconsfield Tower Run/Walk is a community running and walking event that began in 1997 and forms part of the Upper Beaconsfield Village Festival. It is organised by volunteers and net proceeds support local community groups, including the Upper Beaconsfield Men’s Shed, the Village Festival, the Upper Beaconsfield CFA, and Split Rock Rovers. The event also supports the not-for-profit Kids in Sport Inc with an optional donation at registration. The festival features stalls, food, entertainment and activities for families.

Course, race options, timing and awards

The course is a loop from the township (Charing Cross) to the Water Tower and back, following quiet, mainly unsealed roads through rolling hills. Course descriptions and Strava routes are provided for each distance. Distances offered:

  • 6.5 km single loop
  • 13 km double loop
  • 21.1 km triple loop and a bit
  • 1 km Leisure Pools Kids Dash

Each option uses electronic timing; participants wear a bib throughout and times are recorded at the start and finish lines with results available online in real time. All finishers receive a medallion; first, second and third place finishers in each category receive a plaque or medal. Elevation for the courses is given as approximately 180 m (6.5 km), 360 m (13 km) and 600 m (21.1 km). Parking is available in surrounding streets. Sponsors are named for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
