Up, Up, and Away 5K
The Up, Up, and Away 5K takes place July 25 at Kent State University at Stark, 6000 Frank Avenue Northwest, Canton, Ohio. The event is presented by OrthoUnited and may include hot air balloons floating over the campus, weather permitting.
The event is organized as a 5K run and walk open to runners and walkers. Registration pricing for the 5K is listed as $32 through June 30, $37 through July 25, and $42 through race day. There is special age group pricing for ages 0 to 18. Race registrations are non refundable and non transferable.
A free Kids Fun Run of 1000 foot near the finish line follows the 5K. The kids run is untimed and intended for children ages 8 and under, with two age group runs for ages 6 to 8 and ages 5 and under. A parent or guardian may participate in the kids run without a separate registration, but a waiver must be signed by the parent or guardian.
Pre race packet pickup is scheduled for July 24 at the OrthoUnited OMNI Campus, 4760 Belpar St. NW, Canton, OH. Registered 5K participants are offered short sleeve athletic shirts in sizes X Small to 3X Large; a no shirt option is available with a $5 discount. Shirt availability is limited and registration does not guarantee a shirt after July 8. Kids Fun Run participants receive youth shirts.
Awards include finisher medals and awards for the top three male and female overall plus top three male and female in each age category from 12 and under up to 85 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
