Unity Race 5K Run/Walk - Crotona Park
Unity Race 5K Run/Walk is a community event held in Crotona Park in the Bronx. The event is hosted by Crotona Park Running Club, Inc., a Bronx running club and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and includes a community wellness fair. Members of the NYPD and community members participate together on a predefined 5K course inside the park.
This is a free event with an optional donation; a suggested donation of $15 is noted but participants may donate any amount. Proceeds support community development projects such as Life Skills Learning Centers and vocational book distribution, and aim to cultivate a positive relationship between the NYPD and the community it serves. The event will distribute tested informational literature and other giveaways.
Registration offers a standard 5K run/walk option. Participants who register by 8/29 can have their name printed on their bib. Personalized bibs are available for registrants who complete registration about three weeks in advance. A bib number is required for pickup; last minute registrants are provided a bib number by text shortly after registering.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall finishers and the top male and female in each age group: 9 and under, 10 to 15, 16 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
