United Way of Marathon County Turkey Trot 2026
The United Way of Marathon County Turkey Trot is a community 5K held in downtown Wausau with the course starting and ending in the 400 Block on November 26, 2026. The event raises funds for the United Way Hunger Coalition so local partners can purchase and distribute fresh produce from Marathon County farmers.
Registration opens September 1, 2026. Early registration is listed at $30 and later registration is listed at $40, with overall participation limited to 2,600 entrants and t-shirt sizes guaranteed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration fees are nonrefundable; 100% of the money raised stays in the local community to support food access work.
Packet and t-shirt pick-up takes place at The Grand Theater on Wednesday, November 25, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; someone else may pick up a packet on a registrant’s behalf. A limited supply of Turkey Trot hats is available for purchase during registration, with 500 hats reported.
Practical notes recorded for participants include: dogs are allowed on leash but must remain outside The Grand Theater; strollers are permitted; children under eight do not require registration unless a bib and t-shirt are desired.
