Event overview
WausaUltra takes place in Wausau, WI from May 1 to May 3, 2026 at Sylvan Park. The event offers three race options: Limitless (a backyard/last-runner-standing format), Solo, and Double. Registration closes on Wed, April 29, 2026 at 5:00 PM CT and there are no race-day sign-ups. Entry fees are listed for each option; the Limitless entry fee is $200. The Solo and Double options have tiered pricing that changes after December 31, 2025. The kids' race is free for children 12 and under.
Registrations are final; refunds and deferrals are not offered. Transfers of an entry to another person are possible. Limitless, Solo, and Double competitors must be 18 years or older on race day, or 18 with a parent or guardian present for younger entrants.
Course and race formats
The event uses a single loop course of 4.167 miles, mostly trail, with rolling terrain, climbs, single-track sections, a creek and bridges. A central home base with tents, aid, bathroom facilities, and parking is located at the start/finish area and is accessible each loop. The course description notes hilly sections, a gravel approach through trees, a tubing-hill climb, a section along school property, and a fast descent back to the home base.
