Burke Mountain - UltraTrax
UltraTrax at Burke Mountain in East Burke, VT on October 25, 2026 is a single-day endurance walking event where participants select their distance by completing loops of a 7-mile course. The route is mountain-built and moves along forested single-track, old logging roads, rocky ridgelines, spruce-soaked slopes, and open ski-trail sections, with valley and summit views as elevation is gained.
Each 7-mile loop has about 1,549 feet of elevation gain. Participants may walk, hike, or ruck and can choose to add weight in a vest or ruck in 10, 20, or 35 pound increments. The course is professionally timed and clearly marked, with volunteers at key intersections, and aid stations located roughly every 2.5 to 3 miles offering water, electrolytes, snacks, and regular toilet access.
Event trail pack items include a commemorative patch and an UltraTrax finisher shirt; the Grey Wolf medal is awarded for higher-level finishes and additional swag is available for those who ruck. Lodging is available at Burke Mountain Lodge. The event takes place in fall conditions with an average listed temperature of about 60°F. A portion of registration proceeds supports the Conservation Lands Foundation.
