Ultra In The Black Country 2027
The Ultra In The Black Country takes place on 21 March 2027 with start and finish at Baggeridge Country Park near Dudley, West Midlands. The event is a 32 mile loop divided into four sections and can be entered solo, as a pair, or as a team of four. A parking charge of £3.50 applies at the venue.
The route is around 97% traffic free and uses mainly well surfaced disused railway lines and canal towpaths. Runners will pass woodland, fen pools and canal tunnels. One section includes a mandatory head torch for the 2.7 km Netherton Tunnel. The shorter Coseley Tunnel is 329 m long. The course will be fully waymarked and a gpx file is provided for GPS devices.
There are three check points that also serve as relay changeover locations. Each check point offers water, an energy drink and assorted food. Finishers receive a medal and a bottle of Teme Valley Brewery beer. The minimum age for runners is 18 years on race day. Entrants must complete the route within nine hours. Entry fees are listed as Solo £55 with an early bird rate of £30 for the first 20 sign ups, Pairs £65 and Team of 4 £90. Total places are limited to 100.
