About the race
Ultra In The Black Country returns for its ninth year, starting and finishing at Baggeridge Country Park near Dudley, West Midlands. The 32-mile loop can be run solo, in a pair, or as a team of four. The scenic, urban course is 97% traffic-free, largely along disused railway lines and canal towpaths, with highlights including a 2.7-kilometre Netherton Tunnel that requires a head torch.
Three checkpoints support runners and relay teams; finishers receive a medal and a bottle of Teme Valley Brewery beer. The route is fully waymarked with a GPX file provided, and entrants must finish within 9 hours. Entry fees range from £30 to £90. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
