Ultimutt Race
Ultimutt Race is an obstacle course event for canine and owner teams held March 13-14, 2027. The course covers about 5 km / 3 miles and includes 17 obstacles. The event runs alongside an all day festival that focuses on dogs and dog owners.
The event offers two race formats. The Competitive Wave is chip timed from the bib and awards the UltiMutt Champion title and a trophy. The Fun Run uses the same course and obstacles but is not timed; competitive runners who choose to skip an obstacle must perform 30 squats as a penalty. Starts are staged with five racers every one minute to reduce congestion, and the start area is organized by waves near an open field.
Rules and animal welfare requirements include leash rules and vaccination standards. Dogs must be at least one year old, up to date on Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations, free of relevant health issues, and not show aggression. Dogs must remain leashed at all times; retractable leashes are prohibited. A hands free leash and a harness are recommended for obstacle sections. Each participant may run only one dog at a time.
Fundraising is optional; participants are invited to aim to raise $100. One hundred percent of donations raised and a portion of registration fees are given to a partnering local animal shelter. Finishers receive a medal, a year specific iron on patch, free entry to Noble Dog Fest, and free race photos. A downloadable course guide with obstacle details is available for participants.
