UKA Fell & Hill Relays 2026, Todmorden

The UKA Fell & Hill Relays 2026 take place in Todmorden, with event HQ at Todmorden Cricket Club and the venue in Centre Vale Park. The central town location sits close to shops, cafes, pubs and the market, while the courses lead up from the valley onto the moors and include woodland, open moorland, bog, heather and tussocks with steep gradients.

Entries open in several windows. Pre-entry for championship categories opens 1 July with reserved places for top teams from 2025; general entries open 25 July and close 18 August. Entry fee is £200 per team and the event has a maximum capacity of 200 teams. If demand exceeds places, remaining spots will be allocated by ballot. Names of runners must be declared by 12 noon on Friday 16 October.

Racing comprises four legs with age and navigation requirements: Leg 1 solo, age 16+ and fully flagged; Leg 2 pairs, age 18+ and partially flagged; Leg 3 paired navigation, age 18+ with maps issued after the first mile; Leg 4 solo, age 16+ and fully flagged. Maps are provided for all legs except Leg 3. GPS navigation and gpx routes are prohibited.

Recces are permitted following public rights of way and open access land; some maps are withheld until after July to protect nesting birds. Full FRA kit is mandatory, including waterproof whole-body cover with taped seams and attached hood, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Kit checks will operate at changeovers.

Food and drink for competitors is included in the entry fee and served at the cricket club; additional hot food, a cash bar, coffee and charity cake stalls will be available. Dogs are permitted in the park but not on any course and must be kept under close control. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
