Ugly Sweater 5K - La Crosse
The Ugly Sweater 5k, presented by Northwestern Mutual and organized by the Rotary Club of La Crosse After Hours, is scheduled for December 5, 2026 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The in-person course runs from Myrick Park through La Crosse marsh trails and finishes at Rotary Lights in Riverside Park. A heated tent at Rotary Lights will host an award ceremony after the race.
The event is offered both in-person and as a virtual 5K. Packet pick-up and race-day check-in are held at The Nature Place and include holiday music and character appearances. Same-day registration is available. A shuttle operates between Riverside Park (333 N. Front St., La Crosse) and the Myrick Park main shelter on race day.
All day-of and virtual participants receive a racer bag with a one-of-a-kind Ugly Sweater 5k swag piece and other items. Entry fees vary by age and registration timing:
- Children 10 and under: free with a non-perishable food item
- Ages 11 to 15: $15
- Ages 16 and older: $30 before November 28, $35 after November 28, $40 same-day registration
- Virtual entry: $30
Registration windows reported for the events are early September through late November or early December depending on the race option. Proceeds support Rotary After Hours projects, including a shade shelter with the Coulee Region Humane Society, GearUp support for first-year college students, and a clean water project in Guatemala.
