Ugly Sweater 5K - La Crosse
The Ugly Sweater 5K, presented by Northwestern Mutual and hosted by the Rotary Club of La Crosse - After Hours, takes place in La Crosse in early December and is offered as both an in person event and a virtual event. The course runs from Myrick Park through La Crosse marsh trails under holiday lights and finishes at Rotary Lights in Riverside Park. An award ceremony follows at the heated tent at Rotary Lights.
Packet pick up is available the day before and the day of the event at The Nature Place. Same day registration is offered. A shuttle operates between Riverside Park (333 N. Front St.) and the Myrick Park shelter to assist participants with access to the start and finish areas.
All day of event and virtual participants receive a racer bag that includes a one of a kind Ugly Sweater 5K swag piece and other items. Entry fees and categories are: children 10 and under free with a non perishable food item; ages 11 to 15 $15; ages 16 and older $30 before November 27, $35 after November 27, $40 for same day registration; virtual entry $30.
Proceeds and participant support help Rotary Club projects such as a play structure at New Horizons, a sun shelter with the Coulee Region Humane Society, GearUp support for college students, and a clean water project in Guatemala. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
