Ugly Sweater 5K - La Crosse
The Ugly Sweater 5k, presented by Northwestern Mutual and organized by the Rotary Club of La Crosse—After Hours, is a holiday-themed, family-friendly running event held in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The event is offered both in-person and as a virtual 5 km option. The in-person route runs from Myrick Park through the La Crosse marsh trails and finishes at Rotary Lights in Riverside Park under holiday lighting.
Packet pick-up and race-day check-in take place at The Nature Place, with packet pick-up available the day before the in-person event as well as on race day. Same-day registration and a virtual entry option are available. A shuttle service operates between Riverside Park and Myrick Park to assist participant movement.
All day-of and virtual participants receive a racer bag that includes a unique Ugly Sweater 5k swag piece and additional items. Entry fees vary by age and timing: children 10 and under may enter free with a non-perishable food item; ages 11–15 are $15; ages 16 and older are $30 before November 26, $35 after November 26, and $40 for same-day registration; virtual registration is $30.
Proceeds and participant support benefit Rotary Club projects, including building a play structure, a sun shelter project with the Coulee Region Humane Society, GearUp support for first-year college students, and a clean water project in Guatemala.
