Amazing 5K Run/Walk
The 6th Annual PARC/RCRC event is a non-timed activity centered on the theme of "History, Scenery, and Fun in West Salem". This untimed event combines elements of a fun run and a walkathon with interactive components. The route consists of one distance:
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
The course begins and ends at the Swarthout Park parking lot near Lake Neshonoc. Participants navigate through the downtown area of West Salem, passing various local points of interest. Along the way, the route includes optional activity stops, challenges, and business locations offering food and beverage samples. Completion of all activities and stops typically takes approximately three hours.
Registration is required for all individuals aged 11 and older, while minors must be accompanied by parents. Entry fees include access to food and beverage samples during the event, though optional adult beverages at specific locations are not included. The first 75 people to register receive a souvenir glass.
Participants can use a mobile application for turn-by-turn verbal instructions or access a map and written directions provided by organizers. An optional challenge checklist is also available for tracking progress across the different stations.
