Festival Foods La Crosse Marathon
The Festival Foods La Crosse Marathon is a running event organized by the River City Running Club, a local non-profit organization located in Wiscosin. The event offers participants the opportunity to run through the driftless region, featuring a course that passes through rural Wisconsin towns and uses scenic, remote river trails.
The primary route begins in Sparta and travels toward La Crosse, where the finish line is located at Riverside Park in the downtown area. As part of its mission as a non-profit, the organizing club utilizes proceeds from the event to donate over $30,000 back to the local community on an annual basis.
Participants can choose from several different race distances held on the same day:
- 26.2 Miles (Full Marathon)
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 3.1 Miles (5k)
