UF Health Jacksonville's Turkey Trot 5K

UF Health Jacksonville's 12th Annual Turkey Trot is a fundraising running event for brain injury awareness taking place on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, in Atlantic Beach, Florida at the Dune House Hotel & Spa, 1 Ocean Blvd. The event lists 475 participants and includes both an organized 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run.

The 5K is conducted with multiple wave starts, including a competitive wave, pace-based waves, and a sensory 5K start. Race packet pick-up is scheduled in the days prior to the event and on race day at the Dune House Hotel & Spa; race day pick-up is held in the Junior Ballroom.

All participants receive a finisher medal and a reusable keepsake water cup. Awards include overall male and female, masters and grand-masters categories, plus top three finishers in multiple age groups spanning 10 and under through 80 and over. Additional recognitions include a costume contest, highest fundraiser, team awards, and a largest team designation by registration.

Proceeds support UF Health Jacksonville programs for traumatic brain injury care and recovery. Past uses of funds include housing and transportation for more than 100 patients, support for 44 participants in an equine therapy program, purchase of Transcranial Doppler equipment and an intracranial ultrasound, training for staff in TCD use, purchase of video laryngoscopes, educational outreach on TBI, and short-term support for members at a regional brain injury clubhouse.
