Twisted Branch Trail Run
Twisted Branch Trail Run is a point to point ultra running event in Naples, NY, following the historic Bristol Hills Branch trail in the Finger Lakes region. The course is routed between two small lake towns and passes near parks, wineries, breweries and lakes. The start area is listed at 6475 Gannett Hill Park Drive.
The primary distance is 100K+ (described as feeling like 65 miles). The route is almost entirely single track and has an estimated elevation of 10,000G/11,000L. There are 11 fully stocked aid stations, five of which have easy access for crew. The event enforces a 20 hour cutoff. All finishers receive UTMB qualification credit of four points, and the race is a Western States qualifier for finishes under 20 hours.
The course follows an old branch trail and is not a groomed park trail. Sections that appear flat on an elevation profile can be among the hardest miles, and the terrain can be physically and mentally demanding. Volunteers staff aid stations and support areas.
Shuttle service to the start is offered on Friday night only and is available for an additional $10 at checkout; competitors may leave their cars and have them at the finish. Camping is free both nights, Friday at Ontario County Park near the start and Saturday at the Hammondsport Fire Hall grounds near the finish.
