Twisted Branch Trail Run

The Twisted Branch Trail Run is a point to point trail race in Naples, New York, set in the Finger Lakes region. The course follows the historic Bristol Hills Branch trail, a trail in use for more than 60 years between two small lake towns. The route is nearly 95% single track and passes through varied, largely wild terrain.

Organizers describe the course as runnable but not groomed and as physically and mentally demanding; sections that look flat on an elevation profile may be difficult on the ground. Course details list an estimated distance of 100k+ (feels like 65 miles) and estimated elevation of 10,000G/11,000L. Aid stations: 11 fully stocked stations, five of which have easy access for crew. The race uses a 20 hour cutoff. All finishers earn UTMB qualifying points (4 points) and the event is a Western States qualifier for finishes under 20 hours.

Logistics include a shuttle service to the start offered on Friday night only; the shuttle option was available for an additional fee. Camping is free both nights, with Friday night at Ontario County Park near the start and Saturday night at the Hammondsport Fire Hall grounds near the finish. Volunteers staff aid stations and race operations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
