Frozen Assets Endurance Run
Frozen Assets Endurance Run is a winter trail race held at Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area in Springwater, NY. The course is an approximately 10k loop that starts and finishes in the park parking lot. The route is mostly winding single track trail blazed for the S6 Endurance Mountain Bike Race, and the final distance may change based on trail or weather conditions.
The event is the first race in the Common Ground Winter Trail Series, organized by FarFetched Enterprises in collaboration with Goose Adventure Racing and Doody Runs. Series options include short, medium, and long programs with different distance combinations:
- Short series: Frozen Assets 10k, Mrs. McCormick's 4 mile, Devil's Shadow 5 mile, Go Forth
- Medium series: Frozen Assets 10k, Mrs. McCormick's 8 mile, Devil's Shadow 25k, Go Forth
- Long series: Frozen Assets 10k, Mrs. McCormick's 12 mile, Devil's Shadow 50k, Go Forth
Trail conditions commonly include snow. Participants should plan for colder, snowier conditions, consider traction footwear, note that snowshoes are not permitted, be courteous to Nordic skiers and avoid groomed ski trails, and expect two crossings of a snowmobile trail where snowmobiles have the right of way.
There are no aid stations on course; runners should carry their own water and fuel. The park has a single on-site bathroom and no indoor facilities or additional port-a-potties. Parking is in the park lot with a short walk along Overlook Road to Race HQ; the last quarter mile inside the park is unpaved and conditions can be variable.
Event policies describe a single registration price, relaxed deadlines, no fees for participant transfers, and no-fee deferrals through January 1. Refunds are available through December 25 and will include 100% of the registration fee excluding UltraSignup fees. The Race Director may disqualify participants for unsporty actions such as abusive behavior, littering or trail damage, tampering with course markings, receiving unauthorized aid, pacing by non-participants, or course-cutting.
