Frozen Assets Endurance Run

Frozen Assets Endurance Run is a winter trail race at Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area on January 9, 2027. The course is an approximately 10k loop of mostly winding single-track trails originally blazed for the S6 Endurance Mountain Bike Race; the exact distance may change with trail and weather conditions.

The event continues traditions from the Frozen Assets Snowshoe Race and the S6 Endurance Mountain Bike Race but is held without snowshoes or bicycles. It is the first race in the Common Ground Winter Trail Series, presented by FarFetched Enterprises, Goose Adventure Racing, and Doody Runs. Series registration options offer bundled benefits including free entry into the Go Forth! event, series swag, and entry into a random draw for FarFetched Mug Club membership that includes a 24 fl oz mug crafted by Wizard of Clay.

Parking is available in a large lot at the park, with a short walk down Overlook Road to Race HQ near where Bear Cub Run meets the road and crosses to the Bypass trail. There are no indoor facilities; one on-site bathroom is available and no additional port-a-potties will be provided. The last quarter mile into the park is unpaved and may be difficult in some conditions.

Snow is likely on course. Organizers note that conditions can be colder and snowier than nearby areas; traction may be useful. Snowshoes are not permitted. Runners should avoid groomed ski trails to respect Nordic skiers and be aware of two crossings of the C4 snowmobile trail where snowmobiles have the right of way. There are no aid stations on course; a modest spread of warm apple cider, Skratch Hydration, water, and snacks will be available at the start/finish area.
