Event overview

Frozen Assets Endurance Run takes place on January 3, 2026, at Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area in Springwater, NY (6775 Canadice Hill Road). The race is an approximately 10k loop that starts and finishes at the park parking lot. The course follows mostly winding single-track trails blazed for the S6 Endurance Mountain Bike Race. Registration closes on January 2, 2026.

Course and conditions

The route is subject to change based on trail and weather conditions. Snow is likely on the course, and organizers note the following: bring footwear with traction options; snowshoes are not permitted; runners should avoid groomed Nordic ski trails and be courteous to skiers; there are two crossings of the C4 snowmobile trail and snowmobiles have the right of way at crossings.

Logistics and on-course support

Parking is in the park lot with a short walk down Overlook Road to Race HQ; the last quarter mile into the park is unpaved and may be difficult depending on conditions. There are no indoor facilities and only one on-site bathroom; no additional port-a-potties will be provided. There are no aid stations on course, so participants must carry water and fuel. A modest selection of food and drink will be available at the start/finish area. A post-race gathering is scheduled at Birdhouse Brewing in Honeoye, about a 10-minute drive from the park.

Series and policies

The race is the first event in the Common Ground Winter Trail Series and can be entered individually or as part of short, medium, or long series packages. Series registrants receive specified bonuses including a free entry to Go Forth! and a Devil's Shadow winter beanie. The event has a single price with no increase; deferrals are allowed through January 2 with no fee. Refunds are offered through December 26 at 100% of the registration fee excluding UltraSignup fees. The Race Director may disqualify participants for abusive behavior, littering, receiving outside aid, pacing from non-participants, or course-cutting.
