Twilight Trail 5K
Twilight Trail 5K is a trail race held at Kanuga near Hendersonville, North Carolina on August 21, 2027. Registration opens January 7, 2027. The event uses a single-loop course of 5K (3.1 Miles) that is also used for the Kanuga Triathlon run.
The course features a mix of smooth single-track, double-track, forest road, and a few short paved sections with gentle elevation changes. The route is scenic and shaded through hardwood forest and is marked for GPS-supported navigation. Professional chip timing is provided with timing chips on the back of race bibs and timing mats on the course and at the finish. Age group awards are offered, and the first 300 registrants receive a custom finisher medal.
Participants who register by July 12 receive a free commemorative shirt; the event notes a $25 reference after that date. A virtual race option is available; virtual runners receive shirt and finisher items by mail. Transfers to the virtual event within two weeks of the race incur a $12 shipping charge.
Dogs and strollers are not permitted on the trails. Registration is non-refundable, though options include transferring to the virtual event, deferral up to 15 days before race day with a $15 deferral fee for 5K entries, or changing race distance under specified conditions. The organizer may modify, postpone, cancel, or convert the event to virtual for safety or other circumstances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
