Event overview
The Ugly Sweater Run presented by Hunter Subaru is a holiday-themed running event on December 6, 2025, at Oskar Blues Brewery Taproom in Brevard, North Carolina. The event includes in-person and virtual options. It is part of the Holiday Hustle series and is supported by local partners, with Hunter Subaru listed as the presenting sponsor. Professional chip-timing will be used and live results are published online. Awards are given for overall and age-group top finishers.
Distances
- 5K - 3.1 miles, single loop, under 100 feet elevation gain
- 10K - 6.2 miles, double loop of the 5K route
Course and logistics
The course runs on paved greenways, around the Brevard Sports Complex, and along neighborhood streets. It is described as mostly flat, stroller friendly, and pet friendly; runners under 14 should be accompanied by an adult. Packet pickup is available before the event at Fleet Feet Asheville and on race day at Oskar Blues Brewery. A bib ticket can be redeemed for a complimentary beer at Oskar Blues Brewery after the race.
Swag and extras
Early registrants (before November 2) receive a free short-sleeve dri-fit shirt; shirts are available for purchase in limited quantities after that date. All participants receive a finisher ornament and a Hunter Subaru goody bag. The event also offers a group competition - the Sweater Squad Showdown - where the group with the most registrants can win $1,000 for a chosen organization.
