Ugly Sweater Run : Brevard, NC
The Ugly Sweater Run is a seasonal running event that returns to Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard, North Carolina. The event offers two measured distances on paved surfaces that run through greenways, around the Brevard Sports Complex, and along neighborhood streets.
The course for the 5K has less than 100 feet of elevation gain and the 10K is a double loop of the 5K route. The paved, mostly flat route is described as stroller and dog friendly and suitable for family spectators. While roads experience very light traffic, participants under 14 are advised to stay with a parent or guardian.
Timing is conducted with a chip system and results are published live to the web. Participants receive event items that may include a short sleeve dri-fit shirt (available free until the early registration deadline or for a fee afterward), a finisher ornament, a goody bag from the presenting partner, and a ticket on the bib redeemable for a beer. Awards are given for overall and top finishers by age group, and a post-race gathering takes place at Oskar Blues Brewery.
The event includes a group contest in which organizations that register 10 or more people compete to win a $1,000 donation. A virtual participation option is available and virtual runners receive mailed swag when offered. Registration opens July 23, 2026. Permit approvals and event details are subject to change.
