Ugly Sweater Run
The Ugly Sweater Run is a festive 5K and 10K event held in Brevard, North Carolina, presented with support from Hunter Subaru. The course is scenic and mostly flat, routing along paved greenways, around the Brevard Sports Complex, and through the streets of Brevard. The 5K loop has less than 100 feet of elevation gain and the 10K follows a double loop of that course. The paved surfaces make the course pet and stroller friendly, and there are locations suitable for spectators to watch the race.
Race services include professional chip timing using timing chips on race bibs and timing mats, with results published live online. Participants receive event items such as a short sleeve dri-fit shirt (free until 11/2, or available later for a fee), a commemorative finisher ornament, a ticket on the race bib redeemable for a free beer, and a Hunter Subaru goody bag. Awards are given to overall and age group top finishers.
Additional features include a post-race party at Oskar Blues Brewery, a group Sweater Squad Showdown where the organization with the most registered participants can win $1,000, and a virtual race option with mailed swag for distant participants.
