Event overview
The Twilight Race takes place on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Altoona, PA, at Lakemont Park (700 Park Avenue, 16601). The event includes the following distances:
- 5k Run
- 2 Mile Run
- 2 Mile Walk
Each event has a listed entry fee of $26 and the price increases after December 12, 2025. Race participants receive a pass for Lights on the Lake.
Course and rules
All courses run through the holiday light display on the lake at Lakemont Park. The event uses a loop course; the 5k and 2 mile run are not a true 5k or true 2 mile distance. Runners in the 5k complete three laps and 2 mile runners complete two laps before returning to the finish at the park entrance. Walk participants must walk only; running is not permitted in the 2 mile walk. Participants must wear their race number; colored bibs indicate which event a person is entered in. Headsets and pets are not permitted. Runners may walk the walk portion without additional registration by keeping their bib.
Registration, packet pickup and awards
The first 700 registrants are guaranteed a long sleeve t-shirt. Race packet pickup is available at the Blair Regional YMCA and at the race. Awards and medals are presented after the race for overall and age-group finishers across events; winners are asked to attend the awards ceremony.
