Event

The Dirty Kiln Trail Races at Canoe Creek take place on April 11, 2026, at Canoe Creek State Park, 205 Canoe Creek Road, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. The event offers two race options and is open to ages 8 to 100.

  • Short Course - 10K-ish
  • Long Course - Half-marathon

Course and logistics

The short course goes up Moore's Hill and around the lake. The long course covers the park a second time and is described as more hilly. Both courses include a mix of trail types: wide paths, winding singletrack, stream crossings, and muddy sections.

There are two aid stations: East Shore Pavilion (other side of the lake) and a ballfield aid station that serves the half-marathon only. The course has two water crossings; volunteer crossing guards are expected to use fishing waders.

Allegheny Trailrunners, Inc. organizes the event as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit. Officers are unpaid volunteers and net proceeds are contributed to selected charities and other non-profit organizations. Participants are eligible for a 50% refund of the race fee minus RunSignup fees until March 11, 2026. The event does not allow deferrals or bib transfers, and there are no same-day signups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
