The half marathon follows a historic route that includes the first Welland Canal and the 12 Mile Creek Trail. Its opening leg uses the Merritt Trail toward downtown St. Catharines, then returns to trails behind Brock University. The course includes Hydro Hill and a descent of the Niagara escarpment toward the finish. The half marathon walking division uses the same route as the running division.
Field limits and availability are specified: the half marathon is limited to 175 runners and has sold out in the last two years, the 7 km field is limited to 100 runners and sold out quickly last year.
