Event overview
The Holiday 5K at Old Fort Niagara is a road race held inside Fort Niagara State Park in Youngstown, NY. The course is USATF certified and runs entirely within the park, with the start and finish located adjacent to the historic cemetery near the lighthouse at Historic Old Fort Niagara. The course offers views of the Lower Niagara River, Lake Ontario, Niagara-on-the-Lake (Canada), Historic Old Fort Niagara, and the Toronto skyline.
Logistics and services
Registration has a listed fee of $35, rising to $40 on race day; paper applications must be received by 12-18-25 for mail-in entry. Packet pickup and post-race packet distribution take place in a large heated tent; the tent will also host the post-race party and awards ceremony, with food and bottled water provided. Adult beverages are allowed in the park for those 21 and older. Free parking is available in the main Fort Niagara Beach lot; limited parking is available near the heated tent, and participants are not allowed to park in the small lot at Old Fort Niagara.
Professional timing and finish line services use Jaguar Electronic RFID timing, with real-time results available via the event timing platforms. Awards include custom trophies for first overall male and female and pint mugs for the top three finishers in each age group (age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and older). The event has a no-refund policy; organizers may postpone, reschedule, or offer a virtual option for safety or other reasons. A portion of proceeds will be donated to local charities.
