Canal Tavern of Zoar 5K Run and Walk
The event is a chip timed 5K run and walk held along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail between Fort Laurens in Bolivar and the Canal Lands Park trailhead in Zoar. The course uses the Towpath Trail and is timed by CHAMP Racing.
Onsite sign in and day of registration are located near the Canal Lands Park trailhead and the Canal Tavern of Zoar at 8806 Towpath Rd. NE, Bolivar, OH 44612. A shuttle will transport participants from the Canal Tavern to the Fort Laurens starting area.
Registrations open February 23, 2026 and close October 18, 2026. The registration fee is $40.00. Racers who register by September 18, 2026 are guaranteed a free race t-shirt. Registrations after that date will receive shirts on race day on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.
After the run there will be an Octoberfest style gathering on the patio of the Canal Tavern of Zoar. Proceeds from the event will benefit development and maintenance of the Towpath Trail at Canal Lands Park in Tuscarawas County. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
