TuscParks Annual Canal Tavern of Zoar 5K Run and Walk
The TuscParks Annual Canal Tavern of Zoar 5K Run and Walk is a timing-chip event held in Tuscarawas County. The course takes participants along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, spanning the distance between Fort Laurens in Bolivar and the Canal Lands Park trailhead in Zoar. This scenic path provides a natural setting for both runners and walkers.

The race utilizes chip timing provided by CHAMP Racing to ensure accurate results for all participants. To facilitate the point-to-point nature of the course, a shuttle service is available to transport individuals from the Canal Tavern of Zoar to the starting line at Fort Laurens. Participant sign-in and on-day registration are located near the Canal Lands Park trailhead.
Following the completion of the race, an Octoberfest-style party is held on the patio of the Canal Tavern of Zoar. Proceeds from the event are dedicated to the development and maintenance of the Towpath Trail at Canal Lands Park. Participants who register by the specified September deadline are guaranteed a commemorative event t-shirt, while those registering later receive shirts on a first-come, first-served basis.
