Tuscazoar Raw
Tuscazoar Raw is a trail running event held at Camp Tuscazoar in Dover, Ohio. The race features three distinct distance options on a course composed primarily of trails and approximately 1.5 miles of packed gravel camp roads. Participants navigate a figure-eight style layout consisting of a 19-mile loop and a 12-mile loop starting and finishing near the camp stockade.
The event offers the following distances:
- 100K
- 50K
- 25K
The 100K course involves repeating the figure-eight circuit twice, accumulating approximately 10,500 feet of elevation gain. The 50K participants complete the circuit once, while the 25K runners follow a specific portion of the 19-mile loop before returning to the finish line. All participants must observe a 20-hour cut-off time for all distances.
This is a cupless event, meaning runners must carry their own hydration vests, handheld bottles, or reusable cups for use at aid stations. Eight aid stations are positioned throughout the course, ranging from water-only stops to full stations providing hydration and various food items. Crew access is permitted at specific points including miles 5.4, 19, 22.5, 25.5, and 31.
Entrants receive a race shirt and a brewery ticket, while finishers earn a medal. Awards are presented to overall male and female winners and across multiple age groups ranging from under 19 to over 70. On-site accommodations at the camp include RV sites, rustic cabins, and bunkhouses, with additional bed and breakfast options available in the nearby town of Zoar.
