Turtle Trot Event Overview
The Turtle Trot features running and walking events held at SunWest Park in Hudson, Florida. This event serves as a memorial for Angela Fagan, a former Program Manager at the Pasco County Parks Recreation and Natural Resources Department. The course utilizes paved hiking paths that circle former salt mines within the park grounds.
Participants can choose from several event distances and formats:
- 10K (timed)
- 5K (timed)
- 5K (untimed)
The 10K course consists of four loops, specifically two large loops and two small loops. The 5K course consists of one large loop and one small loop. Registration for these events opens in June 2025 and concludes a few days before the race date in April 2026.
Every registered participant receives a finisher award upon completion. For the timed 10K and 5K races, awards are also presented to the top male and female finishers. Event proceeds are donated to the Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Adaptive and Inclusive Programming (PAIR). This program focuses on providing inclusive and adaptive recreational opportunities for individuals of all abilities within the county park system. T-shirts are available as an optional addition during the registration process to maximize the funds donated to the charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
