Turquoise Trail Ultra
The Turquoise Trail Ultra takes place on February 20, 2027 at Gutierrez Canyon Open Space in Cedar Crest, New Mexico. The course follows the historic Turquoise Trail through high desert singletrack with piñon and juniper, offering sustained climbing and views of the Sandia Mountains.
All distances use the same loop with real climbing and just over 1,000 feet of elevation gain per lap. The route is 100% singletrack and is described as fast trail with distinct climbs and mountain scenery.
- 13K - 1 lap, 1,023 ft gain
- 26K - 2 laps, 2,046 ft gain
- 52K - 4 laps, 4,092 ft gain
Two aid stations are available: the start/finish and an on-course station at approximately 4.6 miles. Aid station supplies include water, Skratch, chips, cookies, bananas, vegetable soup or broth, and a mix of salty and sweet snacks with an emphasis on fresh foods over packaged items.
The event is cupless; participants must use their own cup or bottle or may purchase a reusable Running Wild cup for $5 at packet pickup (cash or Venmo only). Packet pickup is scheduled Friday, Feb 19 at Rumor Brewing Company and on race day at the start/finish location. Start and finish are in the parking lot off Hwy 14 with overflow parking about 0.25 miles north at Mountain Christian Church.
Each finisher receives a custom hoodie and finisher socks. The 52K has a 10 hour cutoff with a 7.5 hour cutoff for lap 4. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
