About the race
The Turkey Day Run & Gobble Wobble is a U.S. Track & Field certified five-kilometer race that runs through historic downtown Charleston and out onto the peninsula. The event is presented as a community running event with an established course and certified distance. First held in 1914, the race is noted as the longest running 5K in Charleston.
The original route began in downtown Charleston and finished in Summerville; the current event continues to highlight downtown streets and the peninsula. Event features include a Race Expo located in a tent on the northeast side of Marion Square at 337 Meeting Street, a children’s run, and a virtual race option. After the race, a post race party is held in Marion Square with free drinks, including beer, and food supplied by several local vendors. Race results and race day tips are published for participants.
The event is organized by Knights of Columbus Council 704 and lists multiple sponsorship levels and sponsor partners. The race program also includes opportunities to volunteer, sponsor, and view historical information, a gallery, and t shirt design details.
