Veterans Day 5K Fun Run or Walk at Hampton Park
This event on November 14, 2026 takes place at Hampton Park, 30 Mary Murray Drive, Charleston, South Carolina. The in-person course covers the park loop on Mary Murray Drive three times, with information, pre-run activities, start and finish located on the north side of the park near the Rose Pavilion and the public restrooms.
Participants may choose an in-person 5K or a virtual 5K option at a time and place of their choosing. All registrants receive a long sleeve shirt and a commemorative medal. Virtual participants will receive shirts and medals by mail to US, APO, or FPO addresses; mailing may take a month or more depending on registration volume. Packet pick-up is expected to be arranged the day before the event, Friday, November 13, and there will be no packet pick-up on the day of the event.
During the event Hampton Park will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8 AM to noon. Public parking is available near the park with local parking rules and residential considerations; parking on grass or across driveways is prohibited. The park road will be divided into three lanes: an innermost lane for faster runners, a middle lane marked for bicyclists, and an outer lane closed to cars for other participants. Participants are advised to avoid the bike lane.
The event collects food donations at packet pick-up and on race day. Needed items include canned ham, canned chicken, Vienna sausages, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, canned vegetables, and complete meals. Proceeds support Lowcountry Veterans organization, a local veteran scholarship, and the Food Pantry at the Charleston VA Medical Center.
